Since 1 January 2016 the ESF division of the Work and Social Economy Department is responsible for the management and the implementation of the new Flemish European Social Fund programmes (ESF), the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) as well as the European Globalisation Fund (EGF). Until the end of 2015 this task had been carried out by the ESF Agency Flanders. The legal assignment of the Agency is limited to the settling of the 2007-2013 programme.
The ESF division consists of two operational services. The Job-seekers service is responsible for the calls for proposals in which job-seekers constitute the final target group. The Employees service is responsible for the calls for proposals in which employees as well as employers constitute the final target group.
The division is supported by a strategic policy team.
